8 Gang WiFi Smart Touch Switch

An 8 Gang WiFi Smart Touch Switch is a wall switch that can control eight different lights or appliances remotely. You can control it through a smartphone Tuya and Smart Life app. You can turn off and On Light just to give voice to the assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant. It allows for smart home automation, such as setting schedules, creating scenes, and monitoring energy usage without a separate hub.

Key features

  • Multi-device control: The "8 Gang" design means it has eight separate switches, allowing you to control up to eight different lights, fans, or appliances individually.

  • Touch panel: It features a stylish, non-fading tempered glass touch-sensitive panel for direct control.

  • Wi-Fi connectivity: Connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network, usually without needing a separate hub, to enable remote control.

  • Remote control: You can turn devices on or off from anywhere using a smartphone app like Tuya Smart or Smart Life.

  • Voice control: It is compatible with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing for hands-free operation.

  • Automation and scheduling: You can create custom schedules to turn devices on or off automatically and set up "smart scenes" to control multiple devices at once.

  • Safety features: It includes a fire-proof, water-proof, and shock-resistant tempered glass panel and often has over-current protection. Some models also include power monitoring and real-time notifications for unusual activity.

  • Family sharing: Allows you to share control of the devices with other family members through the app.

Working Process Of 8 Gang Smart Switch

An 8 Gang Wi-Fi smart touch switch provides individual control of eight different electrical circuits from a single wall panel. It uses capacitive touch, a mobile app (such as Tuya Smart or Smart Life), or voice commands.

Step-by-step operation process

Command input: Initiated by a user command:
  • Manual touch: The user physically touches one of eight specific areas on the glass panel.

  • Smartphone app: The user selects one of eight labeled “lights” within a control app such as Tuya Smart or Smart Life.

  • Voice control: The user gives a specific command to a smart assistant (e.g., “Hey Google, turn on the main kitchen lights”).

Signal transmission and processing:

For app or voice commands, the signal travels from cloud servers to the switch’s Wi-Fi module via the home Wi-Fi network. For touch input, the capacitive sensor sends an immediate signal to the MCU. The MCU interprets the command and identifies which of the eight specific relays needs to be toggled.

Circuit Control:

The MCU activates the desired relay mechanism, physically opening or closing the electrical circuit for that specific load, while leaving the other seven unaffected.

Status Synchronization:

New switch statuses are communicated back to the app in real-time, ensuring that the user interface on their phone is always correct for all eight circuits.
